Queen + Adam Lambert | Essentials Index | Essential Duets |
Adam left RCA in 2013 because of creative differences - the label wanted him to record an 80s cover album while he wanted to continue producing original material. However, his roots in musical theatre and his start on American Idol meant he had to sing songs written by others, and often originally performed by other artists. A large number of songs have been "adamized" over the years, making it nearly impossible for Adam's fans to enjoy listening to the original versions.
We have listed the reimagined versions elsewhere. We also have a bunch of GLEE covers in a dedicated section. The ones below stay close to the originals. While it could be argued that every QUEEN + Adam Lambert performance is a sort of cover, we have included only QAL covering Elvis (something Freddie Mercury also liked to do back in the day).
