On December 2, 2015 Adam flew to Nashville for a duet with Leona Lewis. They paid tribute to Little Big Town by covering their mega-hit "Girl Crush" at the CMT Artist Of The Year concert.
The mind-bending detail that a song about a woman singing about wanting a girl due to having a crush on the guy who has that girl is now being sung by a gay guy was probably lost to a lot of the audience.
Adam has said several times that he does not like country music (for example during his interview before the American Idol "Ring Of Fire" performance). The irony is he ended up with a CMT Music Awards nomination for Performance Of The Year!
The nomination was announced on May 8, 2016.
